Harry Culham

Senior Executive Vice-President and Group Head, CIBC Capital Markets

Harry Culham is responsible for CIBC Capital Markets which provides integrated credit and capital markets products, investment banking advisory services, corporate lending and top-ranked research to corporate, government and institutional clients around the world. In this role, Mr. Culham is Chair and CEO of CIBC World Markets Inc., and is a member of CIBC’s Executive Committee. He is also a member of CIBC Mellon’s Board of Directors and has oversight of CIBC Mellon from a CIBC perspective. Additionally, Mr. Culham is a member of the CIBC Pension and Benefits Investment Committee.

Prior to joining CIBC in May 2008, Mr. Culham was with a global U.S. bank in London as the Managing Director of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities. Previous to that, he was Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities in London for a large German bank. Mr. Culham has also held senior roles in capital markets with other global banks in Europe and Asia. He started his career with CIBC in the graduate training program.

Mr. Culham chairs the CIBC Children’s Foundation and is a member of the Faculty Advisory Board for the Sauder School of Business. He is also a member of the Women in Capital Markets Advisory Council. He graduated from the University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business, and is a Portfolio Management Foundation (PMF) alumnus and Leslie Wong Fellow.

Jon Hountalas

Executive Vice-President, Business and Corporate Banking

Jon Hountalas leads our teams focused on meeting the needs of our business clients, from small businesses to large corporations.

This includes directly delivering cash management, lending, and deposit products and services. In addition, these teams partner with other areas of CIBC to deliver ancillary business services, and meet the wealth management and personal banking needs of business owners, executives, and employees.

Mr. Hountalas joined CIBC in 2010 as Executive Vice-President of Business Banking and added responsibility for Corporate Banking in 2015. He has over 25 years of experience with HSBC Bank Canada in various client-facing and executive roles prior to joining CIBC.

Mr. Hountalas is a Board Director with the Loran Scholars Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and MBA from McGill University.

Roman S Dubczak

Managing Director and Head, Global Investment Banking, CIBC Capital Markets, CIBC World Markets Inc.

Roman Dubczak is responsible for all financing and advisory activities including mergers and acquisitions, public equity and debt issuance, and infrastructure finance at CIBC. He is a member of CIBC’s Operating Committee, the Capital Markets Executive Committee and a board member of CIBC World Markets Inc. Mr. Dubczak joined CIBC in 1992 and has worked in a variety of capital markets roles. He was previously responsible for CIBC’s global equities business including sales, trading, underwriting, prime brokerage, alternative execution services and research.

Prior to joining CIBC, Mr. Dubczak worked in corporate development, portfolio management and financial management, as well as general audit. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, as well as Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst® designations.

Mr. Dubczak is past Chair of the Investment Industry Association of Canada and is a Trustee of the Fraser Institute. He is also a Vice Chair of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation and a Director of the CIBC Children’s Foundation.

Christian Exshaw

Managing Director and Head, Global Markets, CIBC Capital Markets

Christian Exshaw is responsible for capital markets sales, trading, research and related activities globally across asset classes. He is a member of CIBC’s Operating Committee and the Capital Markets Management Committee.

Mr. Exshaw joined CIBC in 2008 and previously led the bank’s Capital Markets Trading business. Prior to CIBC, he was Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in London responsible for sales and structuring. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Exshaw was Managing Director at Dresdner Kleinwort in London where he held a number of senior positions across Global Markets. He began his career in capital markets as an options trader and structurer.

Mr. Exshaw currently serves on the Board of Directors for the TMX Group and is a member of the Children's Aid Foundation’s fundraising committee. From 2012 to 2014, Mr. Exshaw acted as Chair of the Capital Markets United Way Campaign. He holds a Masters of Science in Risk Management and Financial Instruments, and a Masters in Finance from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises in France.

Wayne Lee

Managing Director and Head, Asia Pacific Region, CIBC

Wayne Lee is Managing Director and Head, Asia Pacific Region. Mr. Lee is based in Hong Kong and is responsible for all business and governance functions under the Asia Pacific regional management structure.

Prior to this role, Mr. Lee was Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, CIBC Capital Markets, and was also responsible for finance business support to CIBC’s International Operations, and Strategy and Corporate Development.

Mr. Lee joined CIBC in 2001 and held increasingly senior and international positions, including two years in New York. Prior to joining CIBC, he was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Toronto ​

Mr. Lee is Chair of CIBC’s Asia Pacific Management Committee and a member of the Capital Markets Management Committee. Mr. Lee previously served on the CIBC World Markets Inc. Board of Directors and was a member of the CIBC Pension Funding and Expense Committee. Mr. Lee received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the McGill University (Montreal) and is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst. ​

Kevin Li

Managing Director and Head, European Region, CIBC Capital Markets

Kevin Li is Managing Director and Head, European Region. He is based in London and responsible for all business and governance functions under the European regional management structure.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Li was Managing Director and Head of Canadian Investment Banking based in Toronto. He was responsible for CIBC’s investment banking operations in Canada, including Diversified, Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Real Estate, Financial Institutions, Retail Structured Products, and Power & Utilities. Mr. Li has 20 years of industry experience in a broad range of corporate finance and M&A transactions holding progressively senior roles at CIBC and formerly at Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Li is Chair of CIBC’s European Management Committee and a member of the Capital Markets Management Committee. He is a past recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award, and has been a Director of Second Harvest and a member of the President’s Council of St. Michael’s Hospital. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a specialization in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. ​

Ian Matthews

Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer, CIBC Capital Markets

Ian Matthews is Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at CIBC Capital Markets. He is responsible for a broad range of operational support activities globally that help support our Capital Markets business.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Matthews was Managing Director and CAO, CIBC Capital Markets - Canada. He has over 30 years of industry experience and has held progressively senior and international roles at CIBC, including Head, Capital Markets Business Management, CAO for Global Capital Markets in Asia, and Head of Canadian and International Conduit Administration.

Mr. Matthews began his career in banking in 1985, joining CIBC’s Corporate Banking Management Development program before moving into CIBC’s Capital Markets business.

Mr. Matthews is a member of the CIBC Capital Markets Management Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Financial Administrative Studies from the University of Western Ontario. He has also completed the Executive Development Program in Finance from Queen’s University.

Jennifer Warren

Managing Director and Head, U.S. Region, CIBC

Jennifer Warren is Managing Director and Head, U.S. Region, CIBC. As Chair of the U.S. Management Committee, she is responsible for all business and governance functions under the U.S. regional management structure. Ms. Warren is also a member of the CIBC Capital Markets Management Committee.

Prior to this role, Ms. Warren was Senior Vice-President, General Counsel (Canada) for CIBC responsible for the Canadian legal team of CIBC, as well as the Privacy and Ombudsman Office and the global Documentation team.

Ms. Warren began her career in 1990 as a corporate/commercial lawyer with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, first in Calgary and then in Toronto. She has also held senior legal positions at Rogers Communications Inc., following which she joined Torys LLP.

Ms. Warren currently sits on the Board of Directors of Atlantic Trust Company, N,A., a U.S.-based private wealth management company that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIBC. She serves as a Trustee and member of the Finance & Audit and Executive Committees of the Institute of International Bankers and represents CIBC on the Partnership for New York City.

Ms. Warren received both an LLB and Bachelor of Science (with High Distinction) from the University of Toronto.
